With the aim of enhancing the quality of education, promoting applied research, and expanding opportunities for students to study, undertake internships, and gain experience in an international working environment, Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) held a working session with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), Taiwan. The meeting focused on potential areas of cooperation in scientific research, technology development, education, and industry partnerships, with a view to developing specific collaborative programs in the near future.

Promoting Cooperation in Emerging Technology Fields

MIRDC is a research and technology transfer organization in Taiwan, operating in various fields including advanced materials, smart manufacturing, energy, and manufacturing technologies. With an extensive network of partnerships with businesses and technology organizations in Taiwan, MIRDC plays an important role in connecting research and technology development with the practical needs of industry.

During the working session with DNTU, the two sides discussed several potential areas of cooperation for future implementation. The discussions focused on emerging technology fields such as smart agricultural machinery, energy storage systems, solar energy, AI Agent applications in management and manufacturing, advanced materials, precision manufacturing, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and the circular economy for metals.

Through collaborative activities, DNTU faculty members and students will have greater access to specialized training programs, academic exchange activities, applied research opportunities, and updates on emerging technology trends being implemented in Taiwan.

In particular, through MIRDC’s network of partners, DNTU students will have opportunities to explore real-world working environments, gain experience in production and technology operations, and undertake internships at Taiwanese technology companies such as Motion Technology Electric Motors, Yu Wei Precision Industry, and other organizations.

Strengthening connections among universities, research organizations, and international businesses not only provides students with additional opportunities for professional experience but also contributes to developing their professional expertise, practical skills, and ability to adapt to the demands of the labor market amid rapid technological development.

Connecting Research Capabilities with Industry Needs

In addition to the professional discussions, the MIRDC delegation toured DNTU’s facilities, laboratories, and learning spaces. The visit provided MIRDC with further insight into DNTU’s educational environment, facilities, and research capabilities, while also opening up opportunities to identify suitable areas for cooperation between the two sides.
