Tracing back in time, the precursor of today's Dong Nai Technology University was the Dong Nai College of Engineering and Technology, established on October 23, 2006, and prior to that, the Dong Nai Private College of Engineering and Technology on October 3, 2005. With a steadfast commitment to providing students with lifelong learning opportunities and building a comprehensive educational system that fosters holistic development in both knowledge and character, the institution has evolved significantly. From its humble beginnings, it has weathered countless challenges, trials, and transformations, shaping it into a shining gem in the field of education and training.

DNTU successfully hosted the International Conference on "Sustainability and Emerging Technologies - CSET 2024," featuring one plenary session and three parallel sessions. The conference brought together experts, scholars, and innovators to share groundbreaking research and new concepts in sustainable and emerging technologies.
Dong Nai Technology University inaugurated the SMC Automation Lab, sponsored by SMC Corporation, aiming to train high-quality human resources to meet increasing demands in automation and information technology. This milestone marks a significant collaboration between DNTU and SMC Corporation, a global leader in automation.
01/11/2023, the university received the official decision and certification for Educational Quality Accreditation at the institutional level (Cycle 2). On 30/07/2023, DNTU hosted an external evaluation team from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to assess the university’s quality against the Ministry of Education and Training’s criteria.
The university launched the Dong Nai Technology University Journal of Science and Technology, established under Decision No. 02/QĐ-ĐHCNĐN dated 10/04/2023, by the University Council Chairman. Licensed under Publication Permit No. 107/GP-BTTTT issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications on 29/03/2023, the journal features research in engineering, technology, and social sciences in both English and Vietnamese, publishing four issues annually.
Dong Nai Technology University added three more accredited programs to its roster: the Master’s program in Economic Management, and the undergraduate programs in Business Administration and Automotive Engineering Technology. These accomplishments reflect the collective efforts of DNTU in executing its strategic development plans.
Dong Nai Technology University inaugurated the Innovation Lab Technology Center, featuring uniquely designed functional areas to foster creativity among faculty and students. This initiative reinforces the university's aspiration to become a "Smart University," a leading digital learning environment on the educational landscape.
Six undergraduate programs achieved accreditation for educational quality standards. These programs include Information Technology, Accounting, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, English Language Studies, and Banking and Finance. This achievement not only reaffirms the university's reputation but also highlights its strong commitment to maintaining and improving educational standards to meet the evolving labor market demands and contribute to developing high-quality human resources.
Dong Nai Technology University officially became a member of the international CDIO Association, proudly joining six other Vietnamese higher education institutions recognized by CDIO. This milestone represents a significant step toward adopting modern educational methodologies to enhance training quality, meeting societal demands, and fostering international integration.
On March 25, 2023, two programs were certified with educational quality standards. Earlier, on August 13, 2019, Dong Nai Technology University had the honor of welcoming the external evaluation team from the National Center for Educational Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for an official survey to assess two training programs: the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program and the Food Technology program at Dong Nai Technology University.
Dr. Phan Ngoc Son, Chairman of the Board of Dong Nai Technology University, has been appointed as Vice President of the Asian University Football Federation (AUFF) in South Korea, with the goal of promoting the football movement among the university's students and within the region.
Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) became a member of the Asian University Football Federation (AUFF). From September 16 to 27, 2019, Dr. Phan Ngoc Son led the DNTU men's football team (DNTU FC) to participate in the Asian University Football Championship held in Tainan City, Taiwan, at the invitation of AUFF. The team won the Fair Play Award for the entire tournament.
The university organized the Five-Star Education Collaboration and Signing Ceremony with five universities: Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Hung Vuong University (HVU), Dong A University (UDA), Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU), and Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU). This marked an important milestone in promoting the university's overall development and its future breakthroughs.
The university signed agreements with Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (RMTU - Philippines) and several MOUs with universities in Southeast Asia, Asia, and Europe. These agreements enabled DNTU students to intern and engage in cultural exchange abroad, highlighting one of the university’s strengths and affirming its prestige and position among prominent domestic and international institutions.
The PUM Organization in Europe signed a cooperation agreement with DNTU to support various activities, including educational collaboration, curriculum improvement, and partnerships with businesses to enhance student learning and post-graduation opportunities.
The Asia-Pacific Association (PAS) visited DNTU for the first time for cultural exchange. Since then, DNTU has hosted PAS nine times in Vietnam, visited PAS three times in South Korea, and participated in one online summer activity.
The Prime Minister signed Decision No. 929/QD-TTg to upgrade Dong Nai Technical and Technology College to Dong Nai Technology University, headquartered in Ward 5, Trang Dai, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. At 10:00 AM on June 16, 2011, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Phan Ngoc Son, officially announced Decision No. 929/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister on the establishment of Dong Nai Technology University.
The Higher Education Department issued a document evaluating the proposal to establish DNTU, recommending that the Prime Minister approve the university's establishment.
The Department of Personnel and Organization, Ministry of Education and Training, issued Official Letter No. 188/TCCB regarding the feasibility study for establishing DNTU.
At 9:00 AM on January 8, 2011, the project evaluation council, chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training with representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Dong Nai People's Committee, and other relevant bodies, conducted an assessment of the proposal to upgrade Dong Nai Technical and Technology College to a university.
The Dong Nai People's Committee issued Decision No. 3938/QD-UBND, recognizing the establishment of the Project Management Board for the construction of Dong Nai Technology University, chaired by Dr. Phan Ngoc Son.
The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1368/TTg-KGVX, approving the establishment of Dong Nai Technical and Technology University, upgrading Dong Nai Technical and Technology College.
The Dong Nai People's Committee sent Official Letter No. 1094/UBND-VX to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education and Training, proposing the establishment of Dong Nai Technical and Technology University.
The university began preparing its proposal to establish Dong Nai Technical and Technology University, upgrading from Dong Nai Technical and Technology College, for submission to the government.
The Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Thien Nhan, signed Decision No. 5947/QD-BGD&DT, renaming Dong Nai Private Technical and Technology College to Dong Nai Technical and Technology College.
On October 3, 2005, the Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Minh Hien, signed Decision No. 5530/QD-BGD&DT, officially establishing Dong Nai Private Technical and Technology College, offering programs in eight majors.
On June 25, 2005, Mr. Phan Ngoc Son, the primary investor for the construction of Dong Nai Private Technical and Technology College, submitted a feasibility study and proposal for its establishment to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
On May 24, 2005, the Minister of Education and Training signed Decision No. 2799/QD-BGD&DT-TCCB, granting in-principle approval for the establishment of Dong Nai Private Technical and Technology College.
On March 23, 2005, the Founding Council of Dong Nai Private Technical and Technology College, including Mr. Phan Ngoc Son, Mr. Le Minh Hoang (Director of the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training), and Mr. Huynh Chien Thang (Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council), presented the pre-feasibility study to the Ministry of Education and Training.
On October 28, 2004, the feasibility study for establishing Dong Nai Private High-Tech Technical and Technology College was submitted to the College and University Accreditation Council under the Ministry of Education and Training.
On October 26, 2001, the Dong Nai Department of Education and Training submitted Document No. 851/GD-DT/QLDA to request land allocation for establishing Dong Nai Private High-Tech Technical and Technology College. The project was led by Mr. Phan Ngoc Son, who served as the project owner and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
