Closing Remarks by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Yến Nhi (Mia)
Executive Committee Member, DNTU Buddies Team
Closing Ceremony of the 54th PAS Program at DNTU
Good afternoon, distinguished professors, respected lecturers, dear members of the PAS Team, fellow DNTU students, ladies and gentlemen.
My name is Nguyễn Thị Yến Nhi, a third-year student majoring in Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. However, most of my friends know me by my nickname, Mia. I am also a member of the Executive Committee of the DNTU Buddies Team. It is truly an honor for me to stand here today and share a few words after completing my role in supporting the 54th PAS Program at DNTU.
Although this is my second time participating as a Buddy, I can still vividly remember the moment we welcomed everyone at the airport just two weeks ago. It feels like only yesterday, yet now we have already reached the time to say goodbye to our dear Xin Chào Ho family.
Over the past two weeks, we have walked this journey together, supporting one another and creating countless unforgettable memories. There are so many special moments that sometimes a single word is enough to bring them all back. For example, if I simply say "Bánh mì," I'm sure everyone here immediately remembers the stories behind it.
From our classes in rooms G401 and G415, to the International Food Festival, the Sports Festival, volunteer teaching activities for local primary school children, and the many mornings when we woke up very early and the evenings when we returned home very late after spending the entire day together—every experience became a precious memory. Before we even realized it, something as simple as sharing meals together had become one of the moments I will treasure the most.
Most of the members of Xin Chào Ho are around my age, and some of you are even first-year university students. Although a few of you were not feeling well during the program, you still participated enthusiastically in every activity with positive attitudes and warm smiles. We truly admire your dedication and perseverance.
Your kindness, enthusiasm, and positive energy brought so much joy to our classrooms, meaningful learning experiences to the children we taught, and unforgettable moments to DNTU students and every member of the DNTU Buddies Team.
Through this program, I have not only gained many wonderful friends but also learned valuable lessons about culture, sharing, mutual understanding, and the friendship between Vietnam and Korea.
To Junhyung, Minha, Hyunseo, Gayeon, Nayeon, Youngeun, Yedam, Yein, Juan, Yoonha, Geonwoo, Seoyeon, Hyungjun, Seokhwan, Jiwoo, Hojeong, Seungchan, Changhoon, Siyeon, and Haein—please don't forget my sleepy face every morning... even though, in reality, I was always genuinely happy to see all of you.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to Professor Cho.
Professor Cho, you have been like a father to all of us throughout this program. Even though we were supposed to be the ones supporting you as our international guest at DNTU, you were always the one quietly looking after us instead. Despite your busy schedule, you always found time to check on us, encourage us, and stand beside the DNTU Buddies Team every single day.
All of us sincerely admire and appreciate your kindness, care, and dedication.
In Korea, there is a beautiful saying:
"옷깃만 스쳐도 전생의 인연이다."
It means, "Even brushing sleeves with someone is a connection carried over from a previous lifetime."
Perhaps that is why, on the very first day we met, you and the PAS Team gave each of us a PAS T-shirt as a symbol of our new connection.
Today, on behalf of the DNTU Buddies Team, I would like to present you with a DNTU T-shirt. We hope it will symbolize our wish that the bond between DNTU, Hoseo University, and all of us will continue to grow stronger for many years to come.
Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt best wishes to every member of Xin Chào Ho, Professor Cho, Professor Yoon, and Mr. Yoo.
May all of you always enjoy good health, happiness, and continued success in everything you pursue. We also hope that you will always carry with you wonderful memories of Vietnam, of DNTU, and of the friendships we have built together.
Although today we say goodbye, I truly believe this is not the end of our journey.
Instead, it is simply another beginning.
Thank you for bringing so much warmth, kindness, laughter, and unforgettable memories to our summer.
We sincerely look forward to meeting all of you again in the near future.
Thank you very much!
