DNTU inaugurates the International Conference on Sustainability and Innovation: The Emerging Trend in Business Education

On the afternoon of October 13, 2025, Dong Nai Technology University solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the International Conference on “Sustainability Meets Innovation: The Emerging Trend in Business Education.” The conference aims to foster international academic cooperation and share knowledge about sustainable development and innovation in the fields of business and education. Jointly organized by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Schools of Business (PACSB) and DNTU, the event gathered numerous delegates, researchers, lecturers, students, and international partners.

The conference is designed to:

- Create an academic platform for researchers, lecturers, and postgraduate students in business, education, sustainable development, and innovation;

- Promote international cooperation among universities, research institutes, enterprises, and development organizations;

- Share global trends in business education training and research aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

- Affirm DNTU’s pioneering role in the internationalization strategy of Vietnam’s higher education.

With the theme “Sustainability and Innovation” the conference is not only a place for intellectual exchange but also a bridge of culture and education among nations, contributing to the spread of the message about the young generation’s global responsibility in this era of integration. The program began with an Opening Prayer Ceremony led by the PACSB representative, demonstrating respect and blessings for the upcoming journey. This was followed by a flag-raising ceremony, with the national anthems of Vietnam, the Philippines, and ASEAN resonating solemnly, marking the beginning of a meaningful international exchange journey.

Attending the event, on behalf of DNTU, the university was honored to welcome Dr. Nguyen Thuy Lan Chi - President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Vice President; PhD Candidate Phan Vo Quynh Nhu - Vice President, along with leaders of offices and departments. On behalf of PACSB, the university was pleased to welcome Dr. Amado L. Magsino - President of PACSB, along with more than 10 representatives including experts, lecturers, and academic administrators from leading universities in the Philippines. The ceremony also witnessed the participation of many international speakers and scholars from various ASEAN countries.

In his address, Dr. Amado L. Magsino - President of PACSB, emphasized that this conference represents an opportunity to establish an academic bridge and a journey to co-create new values for the community. Sustainability and innovation, he noted, are not only goals but also the foundation of education in teaching essential skills and shaping the business landscape. He also expressed his deep gratitude to DNTU for its warm hospitality and international vision in its educational development strategy.

Following that, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan – Vice Rector of DNTU, expressed his pride in the collaboration between DNTU and PACSB in promoting innovation, creativity, and sustainable development in business education. He also highlighted the goal of establishing a strong network connecting enterprises, academia, government, and investors in developing high-quality human resources.

The thematic presentation session began with Dr. Yeo Sook Fern - Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business, Multimedia University (Malaysia). With extensive academic and teaching experience, she delivered a heartfelt opening presentation that inspired lecturers and researchers. Dr. Yeo is also a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration, Daffodil International University (Bangladesh); a Member of the International Academic Advisory Board of Qingdao City University (China); and a Member of the Academic Council of Gutenberg Honors College.

The next speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Dang Khoa - Associate Professor at the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam), shared practical research insights and strategic perspectives on connecting academia with sustainable development. He currently leads the Research Group on Innovation and Sustainable Development and has participated in numerous international academic collaborations as a visiting scholar in Taiwan and Australia.

Continuing the program, Dr. Nguyen Huu Thien - Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance, Dong Nai Technology University, delivered a presentation emphasizing the importance of innovation in training future financial professionals. His presentation embodied the spirit of applied research and practical education.

Concluding the presentations, Dr. Eric S. Parilla - representative of PACSB (Philippines), presented his topic “PACSB Through the Years”, reviewing PACSB’s continuous contributions to improving the quality of business education across the region over the years. In his presentation, he highlighted meaningful academic projects conducted with the support of Northwestern University (NWU) in collaboration with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Schools of Business (PACSB).

The Opening Ceremony of the International Conference on “Sustainability Meets Innovation: The Emerging Trend in Business Education” concluded in an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie. The insightful presentations from distinguished speakers opened new perspectives for education and research. DNTU extends its sincere gratitude to all delegates and honored guests and wishes great success for the upcoming conference activities, especially the panel sessions that will continue to deliver fruitful outcomes.
