Are you confident enough to answer an unexpected question in English without any preparation?

That was the exciting challenge embraced by more than 60 DNTU students during the International Workshop Training entitled "Mastering Impromptu Speaking: Think Fast, Speak Smart," organized by the Office of International Cooperation, Dong Nai Technology University (DNTU) on July 21, 2026.

The workshop featured two inspiring speakers: Mr. I Wayan Agus Rusdika Goldiana, an international student from Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Indonesia, and Nguyen The Tam Ngoc Khanh, President of the DNTU Buddies Team Club, who had recently completed an international internship program in Hong Kong. Drawing on their international experiences and cross-cultural perspectives, the speakers shared practical insights and inspiring stories that encouraged students to communicate with greater confidence in English.

More than a conventional language workshop, the program immersed students in a dynamic English-speaking environment. Participants took part in a variety of Impromptu Speaking activities, responded to spontaneous communication challenges, collaborated in team-based tasks, and practiced using English throughout the session. The highly interactive atmosphere encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and gradually overcome the fear of speaking a foreign language.

An open discussion session further enriched the learning experience by giving students the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers. Topics included effective English learning strategies, presentation skills, CV preparation, personal development, and practical advice for participating in international exchange programs, internships, and global career opportunities. These valuable discussions provided students with practical knowledge and greater confidence as they prepare for future academic and professional success.

Through its International Workshop Training series, DNTU's Office of International Cooperation continues to create meaningful opportunities for students to learn alongside international guests and peers without leaving campus. Beyond developing communication skills, these workshops foster global awareness, intercultural competence, professional networking, and the confidence needed to participate in international exchange programs, overseas internships, and careers in an increasingly interconnected world.
